Stolen Truck located in San Dimas through Disabled OnStar Service
An elderly man was violently carjacked outside San Dimas restaurant Saturday before the police were able to track down the vehicle by disabling the car through the vehicles OnStar system. This carjacking took place at around seven o-clock in the evening outside of a Red Robin restaurant The suspect was a young man in his early twenties and the victim was a 74-year-old man driving a 2015 Chevy Silverado. According to the victim of the incident, the suspect snuck up on him and struck him, knocking the victim to the ground, and proceeded to stomp on the victim’s head. The victim stated that he attempted to fight back, but the suspect was able to overcome the elderly man and fled the scene before cops arrived. The police were then notified of the carjacking through the OnStar system and police were able to track down the truck through the gps service that comes with OnStar. Luckily for the old man, that the OnStar system was able to find his car and get a dangerous man behind bars.
